What are Dental Implants?

Dental Implants are small prosthetic posts attached to titanium screws that have been surgically inserted into the bone of the jaw. Their purpose is to take the place of the roots of natural teeth that have been lost or removed. They protrude slightly above the gum line, so that crowns or dentures may be snapped on.

What are Mini Implants?

Mini implants are small-diameter implants that are easily installed. Placing mini implants requires only one visit, with no incision or stitches. Most often, only a local anesthetic will be needed.

These smaller-sized implants may be used to anchor dentures or bridges.

Or, they can even be used as an alternative to conventional (larger) dental implants, provided that the potential stresses on the implant are not too great.
